Storage cleanouts
Storage unit cleanouts in Dallas
Most units get rented for a few months and kept for a few years. Clearing one is usually the cheapest decision available.

The arithmetic people avoid doing
A storage unit almost always starts as a temporary measure during a move, a renovation or a change in circumstances. The rent is modest enough that it never quite becomes urgent, and the contents are exactly the things that were too hard to decide about at the time.
Then it runs for years. It is worth doing the sum once: monthly rent multiplied by the months you have had it, set against what is actually inside. For a large share of units the storage has by now cost more than replacing the contents would — and that is before accounting for the fact that nobody has needed any of it in the interim.
Clearing it is a straightforward job because everything is already at ground level, in one place, and usually packed into boxes. A crew can empty a typical unit quickly, and the facility gets it back swept and ready to re-let.
The decision is the hard part, not the labor. Which is why most people find it easier once they have opened the door and seen that a third of the contents is degraded packaging and furniture they had forgotten owning.

Before the crew arrives
What makes a unit clear-out quick
- 1
Confirm access
A gate code and the unit unlocked, or a member of facility staff able to open up.
- 2
Know the unit size
A 10x10 packed to the roof has a fairly predictable volume, which makes the estimate accurate.
- 3
Pull anything you are keeping
If a few boxes are coming home with you, take them out first so the crew clears everything else without checking.
- 4
Flag any paperwork
Boxed business records may need shredding rather than disposal — that is a different service and worth arranging separately.
For facilities
Units turned around between tenants
For an operator, an unrented unit full of somebody else's belongings is lost revenue that is entirely within your control to fix. Once the lien or auction process has run its course, the unit needs emptying quickly so it can be re-let.
Facilities can set up an account for recurring clear-outs, with crews who know the site, the gate procedure and the hours — and batching several units into one visit costs considerably less per unit than clearing them one at a time.

Questions Dallas customers ask
Do I need to be at the unit?
Someone needs to provide access — a gate code and the unit unlocked, or a member of facility staff to let the crew in. Beyond that you do not need to stay for the work.
Can you take everything, including boxes of paperwork?
Yes. Boxed paperwork, furniture, appliances, electronics and general household goods all go. For confidential business records, arrange shredding separately — we are a removal service, not a document destruction one.
How is it priced?
By volume, like any job. Storage units are usually straightforward to estimate because the unit size caps the contents — a 10x10 packed to the roof has a fairly predictable volume.
Can you clear a unit after an auction?
Yes. Facilities and winning bidders both use this: the buyer takes what they want, and the remainder has to be out within a short window. That is a routine booking.
What if the unit has been closed up for years?
Expect degraded cardboard, and in some cases pest or moisture damage. It does not change whether we can clear it, but it is worth mentioning so the crew arrives prepared and the estimate reflects the condition.
Can you clear several units in one visit?
Yes, and it is the most economical way to do it. Batching units into a single scheduled visit costs considerably less per unit than separate call-outs.
