Garage cleanouts
Garage cleanouts in Dallas
Not one item, but the whole bay: everything sorted, loaded and gone, with the floor swept behind us.

The difference between a pickup and a cleanout
A pickup is for things you have already decided about. A cleanout is for a space where the decisions have not been made yet, and where most of the work is sorting rather than carrying.
Garages are the classic case. Almost nothing in a full garage was put there deliberately — it accumulated, one postponed decision at a time. So the job starts by separating the small amount that is genuinely worth keeping from the large amount that is not, and that goes far faster with two people carrying than with one person deliberating.
A Dallas garage adds its own factor: heat. An unconditioned bay routinely passes a hundred and thirty degrees under the roof through July and August, and that is brutal on cardboard, foam, adhesives and anything upholstered. A significant share of what has been stored out there has quietly degraded past the point of being worth keeping, which makes the sorting easier than people expect.
The other thing that makes garages straightforward is access. Everything is at ground level, there are no stairs, and a truck can usually park within a few yards of the door. A garage that would take a household a full weekend is normally a morning for a crew.
How it runs
A garage cleanout, start to finish
- 1
Walk it
You mark what stays. Shelving, tools, the second fridge if it is still earning its place.
- 2
Stage
The crew works front to back, bringing everything out to the driveway.
- 3
Sort
Donatable goods, scrap metal and general waste separated as it is loaded.
- 4
Load
Onto the truck in the order that packs most efficiently.
- 5
Sweep
The floor is swept and the door closed on an empty bay.
Before the crew arrives
Three things that make the day shorter
None are required. Each one cuts time on site, and time on site is what a bigger job costs.
- 1
Pull the keepers out
Anything you are certain about keeping, move to one side or into the house. It removes every ambiguity from the walk-through.
- 2
Separate the chemicals
Paint, fuel, pesticides and propane need a household hazardous waste drop-off. Put them in one corner so nothing goes on the truck that should not.
- 3
Decide about the shelving
Fitted shelving, overhead racks and workbenches can go too — but only if that is agreed before the crew starts loading around them.
Set aside first
What has to go elsewhere
Garages collect household chemicals faster than any other room. These need a licensed hazardous waste route rather than a junk truck.
- Paint, stain, solvents and thinners
- Motor oil, fuel and antifreeze
- Pesticides, herbicides and pool chemicals
- Propane tanks and pressurized cylinders
- Car batteries and damaged lithium cells
- Anything containing asbestos
Selling the house?
A cleared garage is one of the cheapest things you can do before listing photos. Buyers open the garage; sellers forget it exists.

Questions Dallas customers ask
How long does a garage cleanout take?
A single-car garage is often a couple of hours; a packed two-car garage is usually most of a morning. The variable is access more than volume — opening straight onto a driveway is quicker than a rear alley approach.
Do I need to be there the whole time?
Only for the walk-through at the start, so the crew knows what stays. After that you are free to get on with your day.
What if I want to keep the shelving?
Say so at the walk-through and it stays put. Crews only remove what has been pointed at — nothing is assumed to be going just because it is in the garage.
Can you do it if I am not in Dallas proper?
Yes, the same crews cover Garland, Mesquite, Richardson, Addison and Farmers Branch. Enter your ZIP when booking and coverage is confirmed straight away.
What if it needs more than one load?
A packed two-car garage often does. It is priced on total volume rather than per trip, and the scope is agreed before the crew is scheduled so a second load is not a surprise.
Will you take things that might still be worth something?
Usable furniture, working tools and household goods are routed for donation or resale where there is somewhere to take them. If you think something has real value, set it aside before the walk-through — a crew will not appraise items on your driveway.
